Joseph Marcellus Howard and Jane Adelaide Steer's son John Howard b. 1838,
emigrated along with his sisters and brother to Canada. In 1867 John returned
home to England where he visited his relations. John visited his uncle Willaim
Parsons and Mrs. Alice Predam at 14 Amersham Grove, Newcross. According to other
records John was very close to his cousin Alice.
John Howard is my 4th great uncle. He left Alice something in his will and I
have a copy of a letter Alice wrote to John that is signed "believe me your
affectionate cousin Alice Predam". John’s sister Annie was my ggg grandmother.
Marcella Howard and Sarah Coomber have confirmed William and Harriet's marriage
date as 1 Jan 1835 at Saint George The Martyr, Southwark, Surrey Co., UK. John
when in England in 1867 also visited an Albert Coomber and a W. Coomber. He
visited various Howards also.
